Houses fly! This is a showcase of the hundreds of design of simple and functional terraced, semi-detached, detached, zero-lot, cluster houses and other landed housing typologies that has beendesigned and built by the thousands over the years. Not to be underrated or underestimated in terms of its importance, these designs have been continuous still and it is very much everyday architecture for the man on the street – what more with the ever-changing urban lifestyles. Green design has taken centre stage of late – and this has been the focus of current design efforts with BIPV homes, rain-water harvesting and green-label materials. All in all, this is yet the most cost-conscious architectural and design products that demand functionality, comfort and value-for-money (By the way, ‘muscas domestica’ is the scientific name for the common ‘house fly’!).
