Pitched-roof tropical architecture is here to stay. They may not be as honest as they used to be or are supposed to be but just blame it on the air-conditioners! Still, the basic principles are typically quite easy to observe like the orientation, fenestration and lighting, sun-shading and roof design.

Terracotta roofs, facing bricks and timber are relatively a dying architectural commodity for various reasons that are too complicated to deal with here. Fast and hassle-free plaster and paint with artificial stone make-up and powder-coated aluminum frames are the order of the day. If not for anything else, at least the ‘urbantropics’ seemed to be a ‘roofy-tale’ in architecture.
